Wildfires in Los Angeles

The news and images over the last several days have been heartbreaking. The destruction and loss caused by these events have deeply impacted so many lives. We have dear friends in Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Pasadena, and throughout the valley, including Granada Hills, who are directly affected. My parents live in Simi Valley, making this devastation even more personal.
It’s difficult to see these beloved communities facing such overwhelming challenges. The scenes of destruction and stories of displaced families are almost too much to bear. We cannot imagine the pain and uncertainty so many are experiencing right now. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we remain hopeful for strength, recovery, and relief for all. Please know you are not alone—we will rebuild and heal together.

In times like these, we are reminded of the resilience and compassion in our communities. We’ve seen countless individuals and organizations stepping up to offer support, from providing shelter for evacuees to donating food and supplies. This outpouring of kindness is truly inspiring and shows the strength of humanity.
As we continue to monitor the situation and help however we can, it’s important to acknowledge the role of climate change in disasters like these fires. The severity and frequency of California wildfires are increasing, underscoring the urgent need for action to combat climate change.
We must also recognize the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to contain these fires. Their dedication and courage are heroic, and we owe them immense gratitude for protecting our communities.

As we face this crisis together, let’s care for ourselves and each other. Let’s continue to offer support, compassion, and strength to those in need while working toward a safer, more resilient future. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by these devastating fires.
Stay strong, California. We’ll get through this together. #CaliforniaStrong
